Pre-Columbian peoples of Central and South America created complex belief systems to help them understand the natural world. The eagle and the jaguar had complementary roles in the creation of the sun and the moon. The recreation of this myth was evidenced when the two great companies of Aztec warriors were known either as Eagle-Knights or Jaguar-Knights. The Eagle Knights' purpose was to nourish the sun by taking prisoners, then to sacrifice themselves so that they became eagles, companions of the sun.

Our Pre-Columbian Eagle cufflinks, studs and tie tacks boldly emphasize the eagle's feathers as symbols of sun rays in characteristic Mesoamerican artistic style.
