In classical Greek architecture, three carefully proportioned styles of columns serve as structurally functional and decorative components of early building architecture. The classical column has three basic design elements: base, shaft and capital. From the base, the fluted shaft tapers gradually upward and culminates in the capital, the decorative and structural transition between the column and the rectangular entablature atop the column. The most ornate form of classical architecture is also the most recent, achieving full development in the middle of the fourth century B.C. The Corinthian column is the most slender of the classical columns and has a special base and a richly appointed capital chiefly utilizing floral designs, but on occasion, human and animal sculptures. The most famous of the Grecian Corinthian structures is the Temple of Zeus in Athens.

Our Greco-Roman Corinthian Column band features a fluted column with a richly detailed floral capital.
