Pirates, as opposed to buccaneers and privateers, attacked ships of all countries, held no commissions, and received no protection from any nation. In the New World, primarily during the 17th and 18th centuries, among the islands of the Caribbean and along the coasts of North and Central America, pirates threatened all shipping that dared to venture within the range of their ships and canons and were universally feared for their atrocities and robberies.
Sculpted in exquisite detail, our Spanish Main ring features a Spanish treasure galleon on one side and a fully armed pirate on the other. Through the fingerhole view, cutlasses frame a skull and crossbones. As a finishing touch, our ring is framed with an intricately carved rope design.
