Found in 48 of 50 states, the largemouth black bass ranges in size from up to 10 pounds in the northern states to more than 20 pounds in the warm waters of the south. The largemouth black bass is rated one of the top freshwater sporting species of fish in North America, the other being the smallmouth bass. Voracious predators who feed on anything that moves, the largemouth bass has even been known to catch birds and small ducks. During spawning season they are exceptionally quick and aggressive towards any intrusion. Ferocious fighters, large mouth bass offer the sportsman a real challenge.
