The Romanov Imperial Dynasty ruled Russia from 1613 to 1917. In 1728, at the urging of the Romanovs in the quest to find the Northwest Passage, expeditionary Vitus Bering "discovered" Alaska. In 1742, returning sailors from Bering's second ecpedition brought with the otter pelts, soon judged to be the finest in the world. Their bounty "triggered" the Russian-Alaskan fur trade, eventual settlement in Alaska, and later the Russian claim to Alaska of behalf of the Romanov Dynasty.

As a timeless symbol of the great Russian Empire, the Romanov Imperial Standard id made up the the double-headed eagle, three crowns representing Great Russia (now the Russian Federation), Little Russia (now Ukraine), and White Russia (now Belarus). The orb ans sceptre are traditional heraldic symbols of sovereign power and authority. And mounted on a steed is St. George, patron saint of all Russia, slaying the dragon.

Our Romanov signet ring enables its wearer to relive the power and grandeur of the Russian Empire and make the mark of the great house of Romanov in molten sealing wax.
