Hieroglyphics are the pictures and symbols that provided the basis for the oldest forms of writing. Early cultures were inspired by their surroundings. All forms of life and elements of geography, astronomy and architecture all provided a rich environment for the creation of the pictorially based system known as hieroglyphics. The hieroglyphic script of the Egyptians has been the most researched with over 600 different hieroglyphics discovered. Some hieroglyphics can, by themselves, represent an idea, or can be combined with other hieroglyphics to represent sounds, thus developing words and scripts.
Decorated in hieroglyphic script, our Hieroglyphics ring is inspired by the geometric planes of the great pyramids, tombs and obelisks of ancient Egypt.
