In classical Greek architecture, three carefully proportioned styles of columns serve as structurally functional and decorative components of early building architecture. The classical column has three basic design elements: base, shaft and capital. From the base, the fluted shaft tapers gradually upward and culminates in the capital, the decorative and structural transition between the column and the rectangular entablature atop the column. The earliest form of architecture developed by the Greeks is known as the Doric Order. Used as early as the seventh century B.C., the Doric column is baseless with a heavy fluted shaft, generally with twenty flutings, gradually tapering towards a simple capital. The Doric column is most prominently associated with the Parthenon.
Our Grecian Triple Doric Columns band is adorned with three intricately carved parallel fluted columns.
